Youth Hoops Game Play Skills Camp

Theme: Learn how to play the game, not just drills

Camp Overview

The Game Play Skills Camp is designed for players ages 6–9 who already have a foundation in shooting and ball handling. This camp focuses on teaching kids how to use those skills in real basketball situations — 1-on-1, 2-on-2, and 3-on-3 games.

Through fun, competitive, and age-appropriate drills, players will learn how to space the floor, pass and cut, read defenders, and make smart decisions. The goal is to help young athletes build confidence not only with the ball, but also in understanding how to play the game the right way.

Skills Covered

✅ 1-on-1 scoring moves & finishing at the rim
✅ Pass-and-cut teamwork & spacing with a partner
✅ Drive-and-kick decision-making in small-sided play
✅ Shot selection — knowing a good shot vs. a forced one
✅ Playing with teammates in 3-on-3 situations

Why Parents Love It

This camp goes beyond skill drills. Parents see their kids apply what they’ve learned in game play, building confidence and basketball IQ at the same time. Players leave camp not only better at handling the ball and making shots, but also more prepared to succeed in real games.

Key Benefits

  • Age-appropriate small-sided games that maximize touches.

  • Competitive but fun environment where every player is involved.

  • Builds basketball IQ, not just mechanical skills.

  • Bridges the gap between individual skills and team play.
